KIM HAYNES ON LIVING WITH INCURABLE CANCER
Maryville Rotarian Kim Haynes was diagnosed with cancer via a routine 10-year colonoscopy in late 2019. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy in early 2020, and rescans in August 2020 indicated no cancer. However, drescans in October 2021 showed that the cancer had returned—and metastasized.
Kim will share her thoughts on steps she has taken, the support she has received, how the health care system has worked (or not worked) for her, and what it means to live—to make the most of the time we have left.
At the request of Programs Chair Bob Beasley, this presentation/discussion is anticipated to be the first of a series.
